A permanent, innovative, challenging and rewarding role, leading a team of support workers, to support a gentleman with disabilities to live in his own home and access his community.
As Team Leader you will use your nursing experience to develop and manage a holistic approach to his health and wellbeing. You will need interpersonal skills, to bring and keep the team together, keep them focused on the gentleman’s needs and assist him with his personal goals. His support team come from varied backgrounds, all with a diverse range of skill sets and individual experiences. The gentleman is complex, with communication challenges, epilepsy and cognition difficulties.
In leading his team, you will:
Oversee and monitor the gentleman’s general health and hygiene
Train support workers in competencies related to his specific needs and condition, including epilepsy.
Oversee the running of his home
Liaise with his specialist clinicians
Organise rosters and run staff meetings.
Qualifications & experience required:
Current registration with NMBA
Experience in health service coordinating desirable
Post-graduate qualifications desirable
Demonstrated leadership skills
Well-developed clinical skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Extensive nursing experience
Up to date competencies in first aid/CPR, manual handling,
Other qualifications or experience in Teaching, Disability and Epilepsy would be highly regarded.
ADAMSUPPORT Inc is a not for profit organisation established to support this gentleman to live life to the fullest and to be safe and secure. It is run by a committee of management consisting of his family and friends. The gentleman lives in Venus Bay in his own home, with family and friends visiting from time to time and is very much part of this community.

We support and provide staff who assist a gentleman who receives funding from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
