Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with delivering high quality clinical care to patients and their families in the Cassia and Rose Wards of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital. Utilising evidence based practice, you will work with consumers and their families to develop plans of care and assist them in meeting their health goals. You will be working within a multidisciplinary team, and communicate effectively with consumers, families and other health professionals.

The Women’s and Children’s Hospital (WCH) specialises in health services for women, children and young people and is able to provide continuity of care for babies and children, from conception to late adolescence, as well as providing extended women’s health care services. WCH is South Australia’s major provider of specialist health care for children with acute and chronic conditions and is the State’s largest maternity and neonatal service serving a population of 1.6 million people, including a large referral base from the Northern Territory.

You will need to be enrolled or eligible for enrolment with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and who hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With experience in the provision of nursing care in the healthcare setting in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, you will bring the ability to prioritise nursing workload, and recognise and report changes in patients’ clinical condition. Past experience working within a multidisciplinary team will be ideal, including working in partnership with consumers and providing person-centred care.
