Position

Utilising your advanced and extended nursing skills, experience and knowledge, you will provide health care within the field of sexual health and HIV nursing. You will contribute to the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for clients across stable or unpredictable or complex care situations. You will be responsible for managing a broad range of clients presenting for sexual health care, including management of patients prescribed PrEP and PEP. Nurse Practitioners are expert practitioners, practicing beyond the usual extent of a nurse, at an advanced level, with an expanded scope of practice, and with an advanced degree of autonomy and clinical decision making. They work independently and collaboratively in the health care system. Working as part of a close-knit, positive and enthusiastic team, flexible work hours can be negotiated.

You will need to be registered as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current endorsement of Nurse Practitioner. You will be culturally sensitive to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander clients and be capable of working appropriately with those individuals at risk. This may include adolescents and young adults, people who identify as LGBTQI+, people who work in the sex industry, people who inject drugs, people of CALD backgrounds and people with medical co-morbidities impacting on their sexual health. You will bring the ability to work as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multidisciplinary team.  You will lead and participate in the education of all staff within the service as well as to the wider community including with our NGO partners.

The South Australian public sector promotes diversity and flexible ways of working including part-time. Applicants are encouraged to discuss the flexible working arrangements for this role.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and compliant Immunisation screening.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply.
