The role ensures the delivery of quality nursing care in largely an ambulatory and outpatient setting to individuals and groups of patients living with HIV and/or viral hepatitis through a planned, integrated and outcome focused approach.
Responsible for providing an expert consultative and liaison service between wards, units and the departments of Flinders Medical Centre, other health care providers, (including general practitioners) and the community in order to ensure effective treatment and continuum of care for people living with HIV and/or viral hepatitis and complex needs.
Hospital avoidance by ambulatory care and specialist outpatient services is a major focus.
The role encompasses clinical care undertaken by the Infectious Diseases Department. This may include clinical trials (not limited to HIV and viral hepatitis) and special access schemes for access to new medications as appropriate.
You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
