You will provide clinical nursing expertise for individual patients or groups utilising the Older Persons Mental Health Service and provide clinical leadership for the Residential Aged Care In-Reach Service. As an expert in mental health nursing practice, you will have a significant degree of autonomy and decision making. You will accept accountability for your nursing practice, the outcomes of nursing practices for aged care clients, the professional advice given, delegations of care made, and for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy. Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team and with a range of Non-government organisations or other government agencies, you will promote communication processes to enable best client outcomes.
Modbury Hospital is a 164-bed acute care teaching hospital that provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency services to the North-Eastern suburbs community. A teaching hospital of the University of Adelaide, Modbury Hospital has been servicing the community for over 30 years with dedication and pride. The Hospital is now tailoring its services to meet the needs of the ageing population in the area through rehabilitation, aged care and palliative care.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. This will be supported by proven experience in the supervision of students, Enrolled Nurses and less experienced Registered Nurses. You will have strong leadership skills and demonstrate flexibility, innovation and creativity within the whole of service setting.
