Using your clinical knowledge and experience, you will provide pivotal coordination of mental health care delivery within the Adult Acute service in Salisbury. The main focus of your role will be the line management, coordination and leadership of mental health care to achieve continuity and quality of consumer care. Undertaking a combination of client care, team leadership and resource management, you will coordinate the health service’s Quality & Safety Programs to meet service and accreditation standards. As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide a direct line report and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships within all members of the mental health team. Accountable for the outcomes of nursing practice, you will address inconsistencies between practice and policy and develop team performance and a positive workplace culture in the interest of consumer outcomes.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. Demonstrating experience and competence in mental health care accordance with appropriate standards of practice, you will possess effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation. These skills will equip you to foster a work environment that develops staff potential and facilitates creativity and innovation.
