Playing an integral role working with a diverse range of clients, you will utilise your clinical experience and knowledge to provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and individual case management to patients in a defined clinical area. With a close working relationship with the Clinical Nurse/Midwife and supporting the role of the Nursing/Midwifery Unit Manager, you will assist in the implementation of practice changes and undertake management responsibilities such as performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management; financial and supplies planning and monitoring. Accepting accountability for own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff, you will oversee the provision of nursing/midwifery care within the team/unit.

Registered as a Nurse and or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate. Notable post registration experience or current classification as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife is required, and you will bring demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. Your experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses will reflect sound communication skills combined with working knowledge of contemporary professional nursing/midwifery and health care issues. A strong relationship builder, you will bring the capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and approach issues within the healthcare setting with creativity and innovation.
