Joining our supportive team within a friendly and welcoming environment, you will assist with providing high quality midwifery care aimed at improving patient health outcomes. You will work across the continuum of antenatal, birth and postnatal care, including caring for babies in the special care nursery. Specialist obstetric and paediatric support at the Mount Gambier Hospital allows for both complicated and uncomplicated births from 34 weeks gestation. Consolidating your knowledge and skills, you will develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the health care team. Knowing that midwifery with Limestone Coast LHN is more than help with birthing, you will be able to go on a journey of care together with the women in your community.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in midwifery practice, you will be able to work in the labour ward and have experience with caring for postnatal women and their babies. You will also possess effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a team and prioritise workload, you will be creative, innovative and flexible in your approach to midwifery.
