Joining a progressive organisation passionate about supporting people in their community, this role is suited to an experienced Nurse who wants to make a difference to community health. Self-directed with a “can-do” attitude, you will provide nursing services in a variety of mental health service settings based in Mount Gambier. You will contribute to the delivery of integrated clinical mental health care to consumers across community, acute and rehabilitation service settings and will utilise and develop a combination of preventative, early intervention, therapeutic and evaluative approaches, including individual and family therapeutic approaches, group programs, health promotion and community development programs. In addition, you will assist the Nurse Unit Manager in undertaking ward/unit/service management responsibilities such as performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, financial and supplies planning and monitoring.
Registered as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate. You must also hold a relevant postgraduate qualification in Mental Health practice. With considerable post registration experience or current classification as a Clinical Nurse, you will bring demonstrated competence in Mental Health practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. A confident communicator with exceptional problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, you will have a proven track record in management and leadership roles in a multidisciplinary team, including the leadership, supervision and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses/clinicians. Furthermore, you will bring sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, standards, codes, ethics and competency standards.
