You will ensure optimal consumer care for mental health clients in the Yorke Peninsula region by delivering direct, comprehensive care and individual case management to mental health consumers. Primarily working in a community setting, inpatient assessments are also conducted as part of the Mental Health Clinician role. The provision of education and counselling are considered essential components of care which are directed towards the attainment of optimum consumer health and recovery. This may involve consultation and liaison with other professional disciplines and non-governmental organisations. You will use your clinical knowledge, skills and experience in the application of direction, support, orientation and education to other staff, and may be required to participate in research projects, quality improvement activities and policy development within the practice setting. You will be accountable for your own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff. Please note that this position is multi-classified as either a AHP2 or RN/M2C. You will have recent experience working within the mental health sector in a community setting, preferably with rural experience. Capable of working with minimal direct supervision, you will operate well within a small multidisciplinary team environment and demonstrate a commitment to providing consumer and family centred care. Effective communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills will be essential.
