You will provide evidence based mental health nursing care to consumers of the Adult Mental Health Service in Salisbury. Working with Adult Acute Mental Health clients their carers and families where there are multiple complexities and diverse cultural backgrounds, you will undertake mental health assessments. You will also plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options, working with other disciplines or agencies to meet individual health care needs. If appointed as a Clinical Nurse it is expected that you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing mental health care. The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) provides care for around 341,000 people living in the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide as well as providing a number of state-wide services, and services to those in regional areas. More than 3,800 skilled staff provide high quality patient care, education, research and health promoting services.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. With demonstrated competence in recovery-oriented mental health nursing practice, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a mental healthcare setting.
