You will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated range of evidence-based, recovery-oriented services across the multidisciplinary Mental Health Service in the Mount Gambier region. Providing mental health services which are appropriate to the needs of consumers and the local community, you will participate in the delivery of integrated clinical mental health care to consumers within community, acute and rehabilitation service settings. You will be working under the direction and supervision of an experienced clinician within the mental health service, and at all times retain responsibility for your actions and remain accountable in providing appropriate Mental Health care. This will include providing assistance to other members of the health care team in the provision of care to individuals or groups of consumers, including overseeing the work of student nurses. You will provide verbal and documented information within your scope of practice to patients, other health care team members, and members of the public, and contribute to your professional expertise by maintaining ongoing personal professional development and continuing education through a portfolio of post-enrolment learning.

You will be enrolled or eligible for enrolment as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You will have experience, within the boundaries of your education and skill preparation, in the provision of nursing care in a mental health setting in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. Displaying empathy and an understanding of people suffering from a mental illness, you will need to possess strong communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
