Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with the provision of professional high quality nursing care aimed at improving patient health outcomes. Maintaining cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the health care team, you will implement appropriate nursing care and assist with general and specialised procedures from nursing care plans. You will plan and prioritise your own work program to achieve defined outcomes and exercise judgment when it is required to solve problems arising in your work area. You will provide verbal and documented information within your scope of practice to patients, other health care team members, and members of the public, and contribute to your professional expertise by maintaining ongoing personal professional development and continuing education through a portfolio of post-enrolment learning.
The Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service provides emergency services, general medical and surgical care and community services. We also provide specific facilities and staff for Aboriginal patients. Port Augusta Hospital offers a full surgery service with general surgery and day surgery, and we also provide five monitored beds, outpatient services, palliative care, rehabilitation and renal dialysis.
You will be enrolled or eligible for enrolment as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With experience within the boundaries of your education and skill preparation, you will be capable of providing nursing care in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. Your effective verbal and written communication skills will enable you to work well within a multidisciplinary team environment.
