A dynamic and supported role suited to an experienced Registered Nurse/Clinical Nurse in Mental Health, this is a brilliant opportunity for autonomous and collaborative work with an interesting casemix, dealing with a broad range of consumers with multiple complexities and diverse cultural backgrounds. Within a friendly and close-knit working environment based at Woodleigh House, Modbury, you will provide direct person centred nursing care and individual case management to patients on a shift by shift basis with increasing autonomy over time. Passionate about providing comprehensive and high quality care, you will assess individual patient needs, plan, implement and coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options including other disciplines or agencies. Acting as a positive role model, you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Student Nurses and other workers providing basic nursing care.
Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate. Also essential is enrolment in an approved Mental Health course or current qualifications in mental health practice. With demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, you will bring to the table sound knowledge and understanding of the role of the Registered Nurse/Midwife within a healthcare setting. A strong team player who can work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, you will possess highly effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. In addition, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the healthcare setting.
