Position

You will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated range of evidence-based, recovery-oriented services within the Mental Health Inpatient Services, to meet the needs of consumers and the Mount Gambier community. Contributing to the delivery of integrated clinical mental health care to consumers, you will utilise and develop a combination of preventative, early intervention, therapeutic and evaluative approaches, including individual and family therapeutic approaches, group programs, health promotion and community development programs. You will consolidate your mental health knowledge and skills and develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience. You will accept accountability for your own standards of nursing care and for activities delegated to others.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. With demonstrated competence in mental health nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
