Position

Working within a supportive work environment with many opportunities for multidisciplinary involvement, this is a rewarding position within Riverland General Hospital which requires an innovative and experienced Registered Nurse/Midwife who can rise to a challenge. At the heart of the Riverland, you will join a general community hospital where you will experience a varied caseload. Primarily your role will have a focus on the provision of direct nursing/midwifery care and individual case management to patients on a shift by shift basis within the Midwifery Department. You will assess individual patient needs, plan and implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options. You will be a meticulous well organised individual with excellent attention to detail, who can plan and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual health care needs. In addition, you will provide health promotion and education, to patients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of individual.

Registered as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate. Bringing evidence of consolidation of basic skills and knowledge in the clinical setting, you will have demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing/midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. A strong communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills, you will possess the proven ability to work effectively and efficiently within a multidisciplinary team. Sound knowledge and understanding of the role and responsibility of the Registered Nurse will be essential, and you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting.
