Working in consultation with other members of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the provision of high level paediatric haematology/oncology care and advice. You will be an expert resource for patients, families, health care professionals, educational institutions and the community across South Australia and the Northern Territory. You will accept accountability for your nursing practice, professional advice given, delegations of care made, and strive to address inconsistencies between practice and policy. Nurse Practitioners are expert practitioners, practicing beyond the usual extent of a nurse, at an advanced level, with an expanded scope of practice, and with an advanced degree of autonomy and clinical decision making.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate with the notation of Nurse Practitioner. Demonstrating an advanced level of nursing practice in the care and management of oncology patients, you will have the ability to work as an autonomous practitioner or as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will also bring experience in developing policies, procedures and models of care in the relevant area of clinical practice. Strong communication and interpersonal skills will equip you to interact effectively with patients from a diverse range of backgrounds.
