Based in the Community Team, you will provide high quality clinical nursing expertise for consumers of the Older Persons Mental Health Service. The main focus of your role will be the line management, coordination and leadership of nursing and multidisciplinary team activities to achieve continuity and quality of consumer care and outcomes. You will accept accountability for the outcomes of practices within the Older Persons Mental Health team, addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy, and developing team performance and a positive work culture in the interest of consumer outcomes.

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) Older Persons’ Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is dedicated to improving the lives of older people living with challenges resulting from complex presentations of dementia and/or mental illness. Built around a central commitment to compassionate person and family centred care, and supporting the dignity and wellbeing of older people, we have new resources, a creative approach to care, and a vibrant multidisciplinary team. Together we can build a service of exceptional quality where every person matters.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. With prior experience in management and leadership roles, you will be confident in leading and promoting consumer engagement initiatives. You will also be skilled in reviewing and improving models of care to be person and family-centred, displaying a high degree of flexibility, innovation and creativity within the whole of service setting.
