Position

A role that offers flexibility, challenge and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and motivated multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the provision of high quality nursing care within Ward 5E General Surgery and Liver Transplant Unit at Flinders Medical Centre. Enjoying a varied caseload, you will provide direct person centred nursing care and individual case management to patients on a shift by shift basis with increasing autonomy over time. You will be responsible for assessing individual patient needs, planning, implementing and coordinating appropriate care delivery from a range of accepted options including other disciplines or agencies. Acting as a positive role model, you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing care.

Registered as a Nurse and Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate. Combining your high level communication and interpersonal skills with your demonstrated competence in the area of GI Services and Liver Transplant nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, you will have the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. To be eligible for appointment at the RN2C (Clinical Nurse) level, you must already be employed at that level and have recent demonstrated competence in an equivalent practice setting with at least three years, full time equivalent, post registration experience and experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
