Working within the nurse-led See and Treat Service within the Paediatric Emergency Department at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital, you will be responsible for providing prompt assessment, treatment and discharge of patients allocated to this service. Operating with an advanced degree of autonomy and clinical decision making, you will provide comprehensive assessment of patients’ health status including history and physical examination, and clinical management of patients either directly or by delegation. This will include initiating and interpreting diagnostic pathology and/or radiology, initiating interventional therapies, medications and use of health appliances or equipment, and admission and discharge of patients from the See and Treat Service.

You will need to be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate with the notation of Nurse Practitioner. Demonstrating an advanced level of nursing practice experience in the care and management of paediatric emergency patients, you will bring the ability to work as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Along with effective leadership skills, you will be experienced in developing policies, procedures and models of care in the relevant area of clinical practice.
