Position

Stepping into an integral role where you will enjoy tackling challenges head on, you will be an experienced Registered Nurse or Clinical Nurse who is passionate about providing high quality care. As part of the Department of Forensic Services, you will provide direct person-centred nursing care and individual case management to patients on a shift by shift basis in a defined clinical area with increasing autonomy over time. You will assess individual patient needs, plan, implement and coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options including other disciplines or agencies. Furthermore, you will provide health promotion and education to patients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of the individual, as well as participate in evaluative research activities within the practice setting.

Registered as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice. With demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting. A team player with well-rounded communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, you will work cohesively within a multidisciplinary environment. Good organisation skills are a must, and you will have the ability to prioritise workload accordingly. Previous experience in quality improvement activities is highly desirable.
