As part of a community mental health team, you will provide high quality mental health nursing care in a variety of health service settings in the Yorke & Lower North region. Working within pre-determined guidelines and in a multidisciplinary primary health care setting, you will assess consumers, select and implement different therapeutic interventions and support programs, and evaluate consumer progress. Accepting accountability for your own practice standards, activities delegated to others, and the guidance and development of less experienced staff, you will support change management processes within the health service.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. With demonstrated competence in Mental Health nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, you will possess effective communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. You will display a strong commitment to providing consumer and family centred care.
