An exciting opportunity is presented to work within a friendly and supportive team environment based in Laura. As an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurse, you will provide direct person centred nursing and/or midwifery care and individual case management to patients on a shift by shift basis in a defined clinical area with increasing autonomy over time. You will be involved with assessing individual patient needs, planning and implementing appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options, and providing health promotion and education, to patients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of individual. Other core activities will include planning and coordinating services with other disciplines or agencies in providing health care needs to the individual, providing support and guidance through assessing and reviewing decisions made by newer or less experienced staff, enrolled nurses, student nurses and other workers, and participating in quality assurance and evaluative research activities within the practice setting.
Registered as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate. You will have demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, as well as working knowledge and understanding of the role of the Registered General Nurse/Midwife within a healthcare setting. Your flexibility to work effectively within a team combined with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills will be essential to success in this role. In addition, you will display a high degree of personal integrity and credibility, and be capable of prioritising workload to meet set timeframes.
