This position requires an experienced professional who can provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and individual case management to patients in Geriatrics in the home. As a Clinical Nurse, you will monitor patient care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis. Accepting accountability for own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff, you will participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience. In addition, you will have the opportunity for participating in clinical auditing, clinical trials and evaluative research.
Registered as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate with relevant post registration experience. Able to adapt to changing environments, motivate staff and contribute positively in a team environment, you will possess effective written and verbal communication and negotiation skills. Demonstrating competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, you will have sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, standards, codes, ethics and competency standards. Previous experience the leadership and direction of student nurses, and less experienced registered nurses is also required.
