Position

You will provide high quality patient care at Jamestown Hospital, working across the acute, operating room and maternity ward settings, and supervising and assisting in aged care nursing care delivery. Assessing individual patient needs, you will plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options. You will also provide health education, counselling and rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual patients or groups. It is expected that you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing or midwifery care. As part of your role, you will participate in the on call roster for theatre and/or Midwifery services. You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With experience in providing nursing and midwifery care within a rural health setting, you will be committed to providing client and family centred care. Creative, innovative and flexible, you will work well within a multidisciplinary team. Along with the ability to effectively prioritise workloads, you will possess sound communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
