We currently have the following positions available at SummitCare St Marys on a casual basis:

Registered Nurses will be responsible for delivering quality resident care in accordance with the individual needs of residents, and for the coordination of aged care staff.

Assistant Nurses will be responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day individual care needs of the residents are met and maintained, under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse.

You will work to a high standard of practice to collaboratively deliver care and support that promotes client choice and control, allowing clients to direct their own care and support in line with the agreed individual care and support plan.


To be successful, you will have:

  • Completed a Bachelor of Nursing and Current Registration with AHPRA; or Completed a Certificate III (or higher) in Individual Support (Aged Care)
  • Experience working in Residential Aged Care (minimum two years' experience)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and solid understanding of Client Directed Care
  • A strong ability to work independently and as a member of a diverse team
  • Proficient and competent in a range of clinical skills relevant to your profession
  • Strong ability to achieve goals within the set time frames
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of best practice principles relating to Work Health and Safety, Infection Control and Incident Reporting
  • A current Criminal Record Check

It will be advantageous if you also have:

  • Completed a First Aid certificate or qualification in Dementia or other relevant aged care course
  • Working knowledge of the aged care Accreditation Standards & ACFI
  • Well developed computer skills
  • Willingness to develop skills in line with current care and support practices relevant to aged care
