Utilising your strong interpersonal skills and nursing skills in a challenging health care environment, you will be responsible for assisting with the provision of professional high quality patient care within the Mount Gambier Hospital Emergency Department. With the opportunity to use a variety of nursing skills, your duties will involve assessing patients’ needs, planning, implementing and coordinating appropriate service delivery options and communicating changes in condition and care, in addition to monitoring client care plans and participating in clinical auditing and evaluative research to ensure appropriate patient care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis.

Mount Gambier Hospital is the largest hospital in rural South Australia and is a hub regional centre with a new Emergency Department. With a focus on team work, we offer a wide range of education and professional development to our staff.

You will need to be registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold a current practising certificate. To be a strong contender, you will have a solid background in nursing practice which is responsive to patients’ needs. A team player with the demonstrated ability to think on your feet and work within changing environments, you will bring a proven track record in working effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Good organisation skills are essential, as is the ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision. You will also possess good communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
