Position

Using your clinical nursing knowledge and experience, you will provide pivotal coordination of patient care delivery within Cowell Hospital. The main focus of your role will be the line management, coordination and leadership of nursing and midwifery care to achieve continuity and quality of client care. Undertaking a combination of client care, team leadership and resource management, you will coordinate the health service’s Quality & Safety Programs to meet service and accreditation standards. As the Clinical Service Coordinator, you will provide a direct line report and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships within all members of the health care team. Accountable for the outcomes of nursing and midwifery practice, you will address inconsistencies between practice and policy and develop team performance and a positive workplace culture in the interest of client outcomes.

The Cowell Campus is part of the Whyalla Eastern Eyre and Far North Health Services. This 20 bed hospital provides acute and aged care. We serve the District Council area of Franklin Harbour and the surrounding rural community. We also have a 10 room hostel for people requiring a low level of care adjoining the main hospital.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Demonstrating a broad range of nursing experience and competence in accordance with appropriate standards of practice, you will possess effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation. These skills will equip you to foster a work environment that develops staff potential and facilitates creativity and innovation.
