Passionate about providing the highest standard of care, you will be a dedicated Registered Nurse, providing direct nursing care and individual case management to patients. Based at Millicent Hospital, you will be responsible for assessing individual patient needs, planning and implementing or coordinating appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options while waiting for medical staff to arrive and assist. Within a fast-paced environment where you will quickly become proficient with a wide variety of skills, you will step into a Team Leader role responsible for the care of acute surgical and medical patients and Emergency Department presentations, including triaging and providing treatment. In addition, you will provide, with increasing capacity over time, support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing care.
To be considered, you must be registered as a Nurse and/or Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practising certificate. Creative, self-motivated with a positive attitude, you will bring to the table demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. This will include direct experience in rural nursing, Emergency nursing and cardiac nursing. Able to perform with a high level of autonomy without medical personnel in the facility, you will possess sound knowledge and understanding of the role of the Registered General Nurse/Midwife within a healthcare setting. The proven ability to work with people with a range of diverse value systems, cultural differences and special needs will also hold you in good stead for this role.
More than one ongoing part time position available; one vacancy working 28 hours per week, and one vacancy working 32 hours per week. This is a part time vacancy, and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked
