Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who can rise to a challenge, you will join a friendly and supportive team in making a difference to a vulnerable and marginalised population in improving health outcomes. With the ability to adapt quickly to any given situation, you will be responsible for providing high quality nursing services within the Port Augusta Prison. Primarily, your role will involve providing direct person centred nursing care and individual case management to patients on a shift by shift basis in a correctional setting with increasing autonomy over time. Your duties will encompass primary health care assessment and screening and care planning, as well as mental health assessment and care planning. With excellent clinical skills in emergency situations, you will lead, motivate and inspire team members to achieve excellence in service provision. In addition, you will provide health promotion and patient education to improve health outcomes.
Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate with experience in primary and secondary survey assessment. Your proven ability to engage and communicate with a broad range of people will be complemented by your demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. This will include primary health care assessment, screening and care planning. Able to work cohesively within a multidisciplinary setting, you will have the ability to motivate team members and foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential. In addition, you will possess chronic disease knowledge and understanding including co-morbidities.
