Position

Becoming a valued member of the midwifery team, you will provide direct midwifery care to women at the Mount Gambier Hospital. You will care for pregnant women throughout their pregnancy, as well as working in the labour ward and birthing babies. You will also provide high quality care to women and their babies in the postnatal period, including caring for level 4 nursery babies 34/40 and beyond. Working in partnership with women, you will respect and support their right to self- determination in the life processes of pregnancy, birthing and parenthood. Mount Gambier offers the opportunity to work across all aspects of pregnancy and birthing care in a friendly environment, with excellent support and amenities. Mount Gambier has good links to both Adelaide and Melbourne, and is situated within a couple of hours of The Grampians and The Great Ocean Road, and close to the Coonawarra wine district and the Limestone Coast.

You will need to be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Demonstrating completion of a graduate midwife program or clinical experience as a Midwife, you will be committed to providing person and family-centred care. You will work well within a team environment, utilising your sound time management and communication skills. Capable of effectively prioritising workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible in your approach to midwifery.
