You will provide strategic and operational leadership, governance and direction for the nursing/midwifery and aged care services within Balaklava and Riverton Hospitals. The main focus of your role will be development and implementation of frameworks and systems within which nursing/midwifery employees practice, and monitoring and evaluating clinical practice and service delivery standards. The role scope at this level may be required to extend across more services than nursing/midwifery. You will accept accountability for the governance and practice standards of nurses/midwives, the development and effectiveness of systems to support, evaluate and consistently improve nursing/midwifery practice and healthy work environments, and the cost-effective provision of health services within your span of control. Make a real difference and feel like an important part of the community. Being part of Country Health SA means you will be supported both personally and professionally, can take advantage of education and training opportunities, will have access to flexible working hours and be part of an inter-professional approach to holistic health care.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With qualifications or extensive and recent senior management experience, you will be skilled in the implementation of new systems and the introduction of significant change. Effective leadership skills will be essential, including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation. These skills will equip you to foster a work environment that develops staff potential and facilitates creativity and innovation.
