In this role, you will assist with providing nursing care across Acute, Aged Care and Accident & Emergency settings within Mannum District Hospital. You will lead the nursing team and work with autonomy to undertake patient triage and provide direct person-centred nursing care. You will assess individual patients’ needs and plan, implement and coordinate appropriate services from a range of options, including those of other disciplines or agencies. With increasing capacity over time, you will support and provide guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing care.
Mannum District Hospital provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care for adults and children by local general practitioners to outpatients and aged care beds. It provides accident and emergency care services and medical care on site with a full medical staff as well as an outpatient service. Domiciliary care services and a day centre for disabled people and the elderly are also offered.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With experience in providing client-centred nursing care, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. You will bring the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and to prioritise workloads, demonstrating your ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting.
