Using your clinical knowledge and experience, you will provide pivotal coordination of care delivery within the Patient Services stream at SA Pathology. Taking responsibility for the management of staff and unit activities, you will undertake line management, coordination and leadership of nursing and phlebotomy team activities to achieve continuity and quality of patient care. Ensuring high standards of patient care, you will act as a role model, consultant and resource person to nursing and phlebotomy staff. You will arrange the allocation and redeployment of appropriately qualified staff to identified areas of need and provide direct clinical support on a needs basis. Updating Proact (roster) to maintain a live roster, you will also provide a high level of customer service and care to patients during the course of duties in relation to Phlebotomy, specimen collection, specimen management, management of Patient Centres and administration. Addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy, you will ensure the safe and efficient practice of the phlebotomy team by identifying and managing risks and hazards.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Demonstrating significant experience in management including the recruitment, selection and direct line management of staff, you will bring the ability to foster a workplace environment that promotes and develops staff potential. Sound knowledge of Quality Improvement Systems as applied to the Pathology Collection setting will hold you in good stead for this role.
