Joining our supportive team within a friendly and welcoming environment, you will assist with the provision of professional high-quality midwifery care in a rural health unit. Utilising your skills across the continuum of antenatal, birth and postnatal care, including care of sick neonates, you will work in partnership with women, you will respect and support their right to self- determination in the life processes of pregnancy, birthing and parenthood. You will work primarily as a Registered Midwife in maternity, but may also be involved in the care of paediatric patients. Our health service offers specialist obstetric and paediatric support allowing for both complicated and uncomplicated births from 34 weeks gestation. You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Registration as a Registered Nurse would also be ideal due to nursing requirements for the paediatric unit. With demonstrated competence in midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a team and prioritise workload, you will be creative, innovative and flexible in your approach to midwifery.
This is a part time vacancy, working 64 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
