Joining the team at Gawler Health Service, you will assist with the provision of professional high-quality nursing and midwifery care aimed at improving patient health outcomes. Assessing individual patient needs, you will plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options. You will also provide health education, counselling and rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual patients or groups.

As a Midwife, you will work in partnership with women, respecting and supporting their right to self- determination in the life processes of pregnancy, birthing and parenthood. Gawler Health Service provides a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services to patients from Gawler and surrounding communities including the Lower North and Barossa Valley. Gawler Health Service has two obstetric and gynaecology specialists, a senior specialist doctor, and midwives ensuring 24-hour a day high-quality care. The Gawler Health Service is a Team STEPPS site, with 600 births per year and opportunities to work across the whole continuum of service. You will need to be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and/or Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in nursing and midwifery practice, you will bring the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills will be essential.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
