You will provide high quality nursing care to patients of the Cassia Ward at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital. Working in collaboration with other health professionals and in partnership with women, children, youth and their families and other agencies to ensure optimum health outcomes, you will assess patients’ needs and plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery. This will include the provision of education and information to patients and their families. It is expected that you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing care. You will be working with children, youth, women and their families where there are multiple complexities, diverse cultural backgrounds and expectations. You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Paediatric and/or adolescent experience is beneficial but not essential. With demonstrated competence in nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting.
