Position

Joining our team of multidisciplinary health professionals, you will provide high quality mental health nursing services to consumers in the Eyre Flinders and Far North region. Integrating advanced theoretical knowledge, evidence from a range of sources and your own experience to devise and achieve agreed consumer care outcomes, you will work directly with consumers and their network and with the wider community to enhance recovery and self-determination in the least restrictive practice. This will involve assessing consumers, selecting and implementing different therapeutic interventions and support programs, and evaluating progress. As well as providing direct clinical care, you will also work within the mental health service team to attain consistency of nursing practice standards and local service outcomes. Make a real difference and feel like an important part of the community. Being part of Country Health SA means you will be supported both personally and professionally, can take advantage of education and training opportunities, will have access to flexible working hours and be part of an inter-professional approach to holistic health care.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. With demonstrated post-registration mental health experience, you will be highly skilled in working with mental health consumers and carers in an evidence-based, recovery-orientated framework.
The South Australian public sector promotes diversity and flexible ways of working including part-time. Applicants are encouraged to discuss the flexible working arrangements for this role.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply.
