Clinical Governance is responsible for providing advice to the Chief Executive and staff on matters relating to the NSW Patient Safety program (Including Infection Prevention) and ensuring through strong clinical engagement that Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) staff and clinicians have the quality lens applied to the care we deliver in hospitals, in the home and in the community. Our principle aim is to work with consumers and clinicians to build strong partnerships so that patient safety and quality is everyone's business and we do it well.

About the role
The Infection Prevention and Control Clinical Nurse Consultant is responsible for multidisciplinary leadership in quality and evidence based practice, with the intent to reduce the incidence and risk of preventable Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) across MLHD.
This permanent full time role is charged with providing infection control program strategies including high level advice, education, risk assessment, auditing and monitoring of clinical indicators. The CNC will also contribute significantly to the development of MLHD policies, procedures, learning packages and guidelines focusing on infection prevention and control.
This opportunity can be offered as a development position and is open to CNC Levels 1, 2 or 3.
Temporary contract through to 11 October 2019.
