We offer group and individual clinical supervision, a comprehensive orientation program and access to ongoing education and training. The focus of clinical work is around therapeutic engagement working with a diverse range of clinical presentations. As part of the broader Hunter New England Mental Health District there is also scope to move within the service and we promote rotation of staff when opportunities are available.
The Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is an 8 bed, purpose built, secure inpatient unit providing specialist mental health care to persons in an acute stage of mental illness. The PICU is staffed by a multidisciplinary team providing nursing, medical, social work and occupational therapy input. The unit is part of a 100 bed inpatient facility which provides specialist mental health inpatient services to adult, aged and mental health and substance abuse dual diagnosis patients.
