This is a great opportunity to work within an innovative model of midwifery care as part of a supportive health care team with a strong community spirit. Working across both Crystal Brook and Port Pirie sites, you will work to achieve quality care and outcomes for allocated women in the region. You will participate in assessing women’s needs and planning, implementing and coordinating appropriate care and service delivery. You will also provide health education, counselling and rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual women or groups.
Working in partnership with women, you will respect and support their right to self- determination in the life processes of pregnancy, birthing and parenthood. In Country Health SA, we have established the continuity of care practice as standard. Dedicated to caseload midwifery, we will empower you to deliver the best possible care, with more hands-on involvement. Knowing that midwifery with Country Health SA is more than help with birthing, you will be able to go on a journey of care together with the women in your community.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in midwifery practice, you will possess a broad range of midwifery skills and knowledge relevant to women’s needs across the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. Effective communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills will be essential. With the ability to work effectively within a team and prioritise workload, you will be creative, innovative and flexible.
