A centre of paediatric excellence, the Women’s and Children’s Hospital is South Australia’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. With the opportunity to extend your experience of a wide range of diagnoses/conditions across the healthcare spectrum utilising family focussed models of care delivery, you will step into a key role as Nursing Service Director within the Paediatric Emergency Department. Drawing on your well rounded clinical knowledge and experience, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, governance and direction for nursing services for the PED. This role balances and integrates strategic and operational perspectives across the Department, also contributing at Divisional level. Your responsibilities will also encompass direct/indirect patient care, where you will work collaboratively with the Medical Unit Head, PED to implement strategies to enhance patient and family experiences, consumer engagement and effective patient flow within the PED. In addition, you will contribute to the development and effectiveness of systems to support, to evaluate and consistently improve nursing practice and a healthy work environment.
Registered as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate. With considerable post registration experience, you will bring a successful track record as a senior leader or manager in the health care industry and experience in leading services or organisations through times of extensive change. You will have proven competence in managing and leading complex services and achieving high standards of quality and safety including experience in leading quality improvement initiatives in health care settings. Previous experience in applying contemporary management processes and practices in a health care setting will also be instrumental to your appointment to this role.
