You will provide nursing/midwifery leadership through effective communication and feedback to ensure nursing staff at the Pregnancy Advisory Centre (PAC) have the essential knowledge, skills and abilities to provide high quality services for women with an unplanned pregnancy and abortion. You will also be responsible for the effective management of resources relevant to the provision of day surgery nursing/midwifery services. Representing nursing/midwifery perspectives at relevant internal and external forums that promote safe and evidence based clinical practices incorporating contemporary research, you will act as a senior member of the PAC management groups and participate in operational, clinical governance and Work Health and Safety committees. The PAC strongly supports education and professional development opportunities to provide safe, high quality services and to meet professional development requirements. PAC values the diverse contributions of multidisciplinary senior members of the PAC management groups (nursing/midwifery, medical, administration and social work) in the provision of services. Located off-site from The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, you will have access to free parking. This position is a 5 day roster.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With experience in the effective management of a nursing team, you will have a proven track record in women's health and/or sexual and reproductive health care, including unplanned pregnancy and the provision of abortion services. You will be proficient in working in a multidisciplinary health care/day surgery setting where advocacy for nursing perspectives is required.
