As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Paediatric Emergency Department, you will be responsible for the direct delivery of proficient clinical care to patients and their families using evidence based practice, and work collaboratively with consumers in the development of individual care/treatment plans. Drawing on your expertise in this area, you will contribute to the clinical leadership of nursing services for the Unit/Ward/Service to attain consistency of practice standards and local service outcomes. This will include providing specific support to the Nursing Service Director in the leadership of Nurses in the Unit/Ward/Service. Furthermore, you will actively participate in quality management, quality assurance and risk management activities and ongoing improvement of services.
It is essential that you are registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold a current practising certificate with notable post-graduation experience or current classification as a Clinical Nurse. A confident relationship builder, you will bring a successful track record in management and leadership roles with the ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve positive outcomes. You will demonstrate experience in problem solving, negotiation and conflict management, combined with proven competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with NMBA and relevant professional college standards of practice. Previous paediatric experience is also required.
