Position

You will provide high quality nursing care within the Kangaroo Island community to ensure effective and positive health outcomes. Liaising and working closely with allied health practitioners within a multidisciplinary framework, you will provide clinical nursing services. This will involve interacting appropriately and relevantly with children, youth, women and their families where there are multiple complexities, diverse cultural backgrounds and expectations of clients. Monitoring client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis, you will assess clients, select and implement different therapeutic interventions and support programs, and evaluate progress within a primary health care setting.

You will need to be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in community health nursing in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting.
