On offer is the outstanding opportunity to step into a key role as the Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer, providing leadership and influence for the nursing & midwifery profession in SA.  This includes setting the strategic direction and actions to achieve goals that benefit the outcomes of patients. You will provide advice to inform government policy as well as develop, implement and evaluate nursing & midwifery policy within the South Australian (SA) health system. You will lead nursing & midwifery quality initiatives to support the achievement of National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards in SA Health Services. With the chance to make a difference, you will effectively support the Department’s contribution to successfully delivering the SA Health Strategic Plan 2017-2020.

You must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a current practising certificate. Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience is also essential. With the proven strong leadership ability to motivate and inspire others, you will bring a successful background in leading the development of nursing and midwifery policy including influencing consultative planning processes. Your senior level experience in a range of nursing and midwifery settings will include providing leadership to a complex multidisciplinary organisation in a climate of continuing change. In addition, you will possess the ability to think strategically and analyse and conceptualise problems, develop creative and innovative solutions and negotiate successful outcomes to be implemented in an innovative and resourceful manner.
