Position

As an experienced Nurse Consultant, you will be accountable for providing clinical nursing/midwifery expertise for specified individual patients, groups and patient populations, working in a variety of clinical settings. Able to integrate contemporary information and evidence with personal experience, you will support the decision making, innovative thinking and objective analysis that is expected at this level. You will lead nursing/midwifery clinical practice within the professional practice framework, and contribute specific expertise to nursing/midwifery practice through clinical protocols and standards development, and promulgation. In addition, you will coordinate and lead projects and programs that contribute clinical expertise to improve patient service outcomes.

 

To be a strong contender for this role, you must be a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and bring considerable post registration experience. You will have extensive expertise and high level competence in the relevant area of nursing and/or midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, combined with experience in management and leadership roles. Also required is proven experience in the supervision and teaching of students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and or midwives, reflecting exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. In addition, you will bring to the table the demonstrated ability for flexibility, innovation and creativity within the whole of service setting.
