About the Organisation The Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) is a community controlled primary health care service. It provides culturally appropriate curative and public health services for Indigenous people in and around the town of Kununurra which is situated in the East Kimberley. Preventative and public health programs include GP clinics, maternal and child health, women's and men's health, chronic disease, sexual health, mental health, and drug and alcohol. OVAHS clinical team includes doctors, Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, health promotion workers, allied health professionals, administrative support workers, and transport officers. About the Opportunity Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service is looking for a full-time Registered Nurse to join their growing team in Kununurra, WA. Reporting to the Health Operations Manager, you will be prim arily responsible for providing primary health care services to clients in the clinic and through outreach work. You will work as part of the OVAHS team in providing a quality and client-focused health care environment. Your key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: * Performing clinical duties including general nursing care, emergency care and stabilisation, child health, chronic disease, antenatal, sexual health, and screening programs; * Following best practice in clinical management of clients including recall, treatment, education, counselling and liaising with specialists and GPs; * Ensuring coordinated patient care by maintaining assessment and pathology schedules, referring to and working with allied health services, supporting patient self-direction in health care plans and preparing for visiting specialists clinics; * Providing support, training and education to OVAHS staff to increase knowledge and ma nagement of any area of expertise; and * Providing education to clients in disease prevention, management of health conditions and treatment requirements. To be considered for this role you will need to hold current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year post graduate nursing experience.
