About the Opportunity BHS now has an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a driven and committed Nurse Unit Manager to join their growing Emergency Department at Ballarat Base Hospital on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, Access and Operations and working closely with the Director of Emergency, you will primarily be responsible for providing management, leadership and professional expertise to nursing and support staff working in the clinical unit/department. This role will see you working with and supporting a collaborative multidisciplinary team while leading and directing over 100 EFT Nurses across the Emergency Department, including a 12-bed short stay unit, in order to set and maintain organisational standards and drive organisational and cultural change to achieve the future vision of the Department. Your day to day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: * Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate and foster the provision of best practice standards of nursing care and service delivery that meets the needs of the patients/residents, their families and carers; * Demonstrating responsibility and accountability for the daily operational management of the department; * Planning for and managing an environment conducive to person-centred care which fosters a culture of consumer partnership and engagement; * Providing direction and consultation with unit based education and training, working collaboratively with key stakeholders to facilitate clinical skills acquisition and performance assessment; and * Establishing and maintaining professional affiliation and networks with both regional and metropolitan tertiary hospitals and speciality nursing professional bodies. About the Benefits In return for your hard work and dedication, you will be rewarded with a highly attractive salary package of $100,000 - $105,000 plus super, commensurate with your years of experience, plus significant salary packaging options. Further to this, candidates with relevant post-graduate qualifications will enjoy a qualification allowance circa $2,580 - $6,450, depending on the level of the qualification, in addition to 5 weeks annual leave and a monthly flexible Accrued Day Off.
