What is the Centre for Research into Nursing and Health Care? The Centre for Research into Nursing and Health Care (CRNHC) is a university recognised and funded Research Centre. Established in 1994 as a “centre of excellence”, the CRNHC has developed a national reputation for its research expertise and scholarship in nursing and health care with an eye on international trends. Under the leadership of its Director, Professor Julianne Cheek, CRNHC has attracted national competitive funding and conducts research grounded in the practical reality of the Australian and global Health Care arena in collaboration with industry, business, and the professions. CRNHC provides postgraduate research training for health professionals and individuals interested in aspects of health care, offering to these persons the opportunity to be involved with experienced researchers. Director of the Centre for Research into Nursing and Health Care Professor Julianne Cheek Julianne Cheek is a Professor at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Dean: Research for the Division of Health Sciences. Her disciplinary expertise lies in social science and health. She has a long interest in qualitative methodologies as they apply to health based research. Theoretically she has a particular interest in the application of critical poststructural and postmodern theory to issues of health care.
